Planet
Makar
A wild world without a people, split between an immense jungle and a great desert, home to an extraordinary fauna.

Makar is a planet without a people: no civilization has ever raised the smallest city there. It is almost entirely covered by a great jungle and a great desert, two biomes sheltering a fauna of extraordinary richness — precisely 500,000,000,000 animals have been counted there.
The jungle
A dense, misty jungle covers a broad share of the planet, refuge of species no Arazian, Cyborg or Eclairian eye has ever catalogued.
The desert
At the other extreme, a vast desert of ochre dunes hosts a fauna fitted to extreme heat — from mineral creatures to predators of lava.
The flora of Makar
The xaq
The xaq is a gigantic tree of the jungle of Makar, its crown rising far above the rest of the canopy.
The wam
The wam is a many-coloured flower that glows at night, strewing the undergrowth with shifting lights.
The datroco
The datroco is a healing plant, used by the artraniums to treat their wounds.
The sqolomipi
The sqolomipi looks deceivingly like a datroco, but it is poisonous. To tell it apart, the artraniums smell it: its odour differs from that of the true datroco.
The fauna of Makar
The artranium
The artranium is a blue monkey with 8 eyes, marked with yellow spots and endowed with 6 arms — an agile dweller of the canopy.
The zetiumaq
The zetiumaq is a carnivorous bird of 3 metres, with three eyes and a single horn upon its skull.
The sadam
The sadam is a many-coloured fish of only 2 millimetres, endowed with 20 eyes. It always lives in immense shoals.
The nanolion
The nanolion is a small black lion of 20 centimetres, as proud as any great predator despite its size.
The xarotic
The xarotic is a yellow elephant without ears, a massive, smooth silhouette that roams the desert of Makar.
The watayou
The watayou is a living rock, indistinguishable at first glance from the stones of the desert.
The euma
The euma is a lava scorpion, its carapace of volcanic rock veined with incandescent magma.
The caramaqzat
The caramaqzat is a many-coloured frog covered with more than 50 eyes, one of the strangest creatures of the jungle of Makar.
