Sayop

The most populated world in the galaxy: eighty-two billion Sayopians, a people who look like humans, at the peak of a technology even the Arazian Empire watches from a distance.

Sayop is the most populated planet in the whole L.G.L.M.D.T galaxy: it counts 82 billion inhabitants. The Sayopians look a great deal like humans — same silhouette, same face, same hands — but their technology runs thousands of years ahead of Earth’s.

The vertical megacities

A vertical megacity on Sayop, glass towers and aerial traffic To house 82 billion inhabitants, the Sayopians do not build outward but upward. Their cities are towers of glass and light rising into the clouds, linked by suspended bridges and silent trains. The sky above is crossed at every hour by flying vehicles following corridors traced in the air. There is almost no bare ground left on Sayop: the entire planet is a single city.

A technology without equal

A Sayopian laboratory: machines of light and artificial intelligences The Sayopians build machines that think, materials that repair themselves, and ships able to cross a star system in a few hours. Unlike the Cyborgs, they never wished to replace their bodies with metal: they prefer the machine to remain a tool. That very difference makes the two peoples utterly incapable of understanding one another.

The resemblance that troubles the Arazians

A Sayopian and an Arazian side by side, the human resemblance striking The imperial archives of Araze have long recorded an awkward fact: the Sayopians resemble the humans of Earth closely enough to be mistaken for them. No one has ever explained why. Some Arazian scribes speak of coincidence; others whisper that the two peoples spring from a single forgotten root. Sayop, for its part, has never confirmed anything — and stays neutral in every quarrel of the galaxy.
